Carly and Dalton’s wedding was the first time I really got that feeling of “Yes, this is what I want to do for a living, capture real moments between loved ones and create something beautiful.” They had a beautiful wedding at Debbie’s Celebration Barn and as an Iowa wedding photographer, this place was absolutely adorable!

The couples one year wedding anniversary was approaching and we thought this was the perfect time to take some photos! We started our session out at the Iowa State Capital, the place where Dalton actually proposed to Carly!! (how romantic!!!) I was unaware of this when I had planned to meet them at the capital and was really happy with this thoughtful coincidence.   We scouted through the downtown area and found a few new places I had not photographed at before, but alas we ended up at good old water works park! How can you say no to the beautiful glowing sun through the trees?

I am so glad I was given the opportunity to photograph Carly and Dalton’s wedding, not only has it given me pivotal points in my photography growth, but also I have gained friendship.  We need to get together again soon and take more beautiful photos Carly, we can bribe Dalton with Mexican food!  😉
