Ellen and Mack are one of the coolest couples I have ever met.  Their energy and vibe was so energetic and upbeat! I knew right away that this engagement session was going to be a blast! They both tell me that they have never gotten professional photos together before, and then proceed to be mind readers and know exactly what I want them to do before I even say it! Ellen and Mack were actual naturals for their downtown des moines iowa engagement session despite them saying this was their first time to be photographed together!

 

The couple met in Portland Oregon a few years ago on Valentines day while going out with some mutual friends to an escape room! (Escape rooms are lots of fun, go check one out!!) The following week the same group of friends went out for karaoke. Ellen and Mack sang NSYNC songs together and have been madly in love ever since!  The two of them love antiques and recently they moved back to Iowa City where Mack is from  and got an 1890’s house! Ellen has some special details planned for their wedding, I cant wait to see one in particular! (You all have to wait to find out!)

 

They met on Valentines day with a group of mutual friends going to an Escape Chamber!

 

When picking out the locations for Ellen and Mack’s  E-session, they went through some of my past engagement sessions!  Here are a few that they drew their inspiration from. KayeLea + Cameron and Sarah + Jared. They both loved the look of the Succulent green house at Harvey’s  Greenhouse in Adel IA.  The couple also loved the downtown look and window shopping vibe the East Village gives.  The East Village is one of my all time favorite spots for a Downtown Des Moines Engagement Session!

Pro Tip: Choosing and having and idea of where you would like your Engagement Session to be will make choosing outfits easier! Just check out Ellen’s electric blue heels, they are soooo sexy!
