Rachel and Ethan’s wedding was absolutely wonderful! Because of the lack of snow on Christmas here in Des Moines, Their wedding was the closest thing to magic Christmas snow. The couple got married at the Kirkwood Hotel in Cedar Rapids and was the last wedding on my 2018 list! The colors and natural light this hotel gave made my Des Moines wedding photographer heart sing!
The two got ready and shared some special moments with friends and family. I loved the room Rachel got ready in, and was the perfect place for a father daughter first look! Ethan gifted Rachel a necklace which was made from the diamond from Ethan’s Grandmothers ring. The two then shared their own first look right outside the hotel in a little nook that was covered in a blanket of snow!
Their ceremony was so sweet, and they had the pianist play some Billy Joel which made me very happy. Soon after they were married, they joined their guests with cutting cake and sharing first dances. This bright winter wedding is going to always be one of my favorites! As I reflect on 2018 as a Des Moines wedding photographer, its going to be a hard year to beat, but I am so excited for 2019!
