I recently had the amazing opportunity to spend some time with Brittany Reed, the spirited owner of Brittany Reed Hair Artist in West Des Moines, Iowa. As a brand photographer specializing in helping small business owners bring their vision to life, this session was particularly exciting. We set out to capture the essence of what it’s like to be in Brittany’s chair, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of inspiring!

The Petite Session Magic

Our petite brand session was a whirlwind of creativity and fun, packed into just 30-45 minutes. We started with the all-important consultation phase, where Brittany’s dedication to understanding her client’s needs was evident and the care she puts into her clients is inspiring.

Throughout this mini session, Brittany’s infectious laughter and bright personality made everything click. It was more like hanging out with a friend than a formal photo shoot, which really shows in the lively and authentic photos we got.

This quick but comprehensive session was a fantastic way to showcase what Brittany offers at her salon. The fact that we were able to showcase a whole client experience in 30-45 min was amazing, we worked backwards with the finished product to then washing her hair! For me, as a brand photographer dedicated to helping local Iowa businesses shine, capturing the true spirit of Brittany’s brand was not only about getting great shots but also about telling her unique story.
