It will be no surprise that this Historic East Village Engagement session is one of my top favorites! I have been anticipating Sarah and Jared’s engagement session like a kid on Christmas! When Sarah inquired about hiring me as her Iowa wedding photographer, we really hit it off! Conversation with her felt like talking to an old friend, her personality was so bright and joyful! I was excited to learn that she was another creative and her medium is being a hairdresser! (Another thing I love is hair and beauty, so much fun!) As an Iowa wedding photographer, its always fun to be able to bounce ideas with people who also have that creative eye!

 

I love working with other creatives, so finding out that Sarah was a hairdresser made me so excited! She even fount the perfect spot to start out Historic East Village Engagement Session.

 

When Sarah reached out to me about the outfits she had been working on for their engagement session, I melted into a puddle of happy! She showed me a photo of a wall full of vines and I knew what wall she was talking about! Its a pretty popular wall in Historic East Village in Des Moines  but I had never seen it in person! We all hopped into my car and went on the hunt to find this perfect wall, after going around a few blocks Sarah finally spotted it!

 

Sarah found the famous wall in the East Village and we all felt really good about our treasure finding skills!

 

Sarah’s dusty pink tulle dress paired with Jared’s navy blue suite were perfect for this gorgeous vine wall. I’m so glad we chose to do a historic east village engagement session because there were so many adorable areas that might be over looked if your not watching! I absolutely love how involved Sarah was in the engagement session, choosing a formal, sexy and casual outfit we were able to get so much variety!  For my current and future brides, this engagement session is a great example of what to wear for your session, but you can also check out my engagement style guide here!  Special props and praise to Jared who got to wear a suit in 91 degree weather!! The first weekend of Fall and it was 91 degrees out! Thanks Iowa.
