High school sweethearts Kelli and Tanner tied the knot on Saturday at their Iowa country wedding. Last fall we took Kelli and Tanners engagement photos and they were so much fun! (Check out their engagement session Here.)  As an Iowa wedding photographer, I have been anticipating their wedding all year and it did not disappoint!  The morning started at Gypsy Sisters Bed and Breakfast in Corydon, Ia.  We walked in on a group of bridesmaids having fun getting hair and makeup done by  Tease Salon, and Kim Baker. Kelli’s niece Neveah enjoyed getting her hair done and self applying some lip gloss.  Madison helped Kelli put in her veil before they departed to the Allerton Round Barn.
We all gathered in the white house at the Allerton Round Barn site. Anyone who has every lived around the Wayne County area knows the charm of our round barn site! Its a neat little piece of history and I encourage you to go see it! Â As an Iowa wedding photographer, my eye was automatically drawn to the lovely white porch with a lattice fence and knew that was where we should do the first look! Â It turned out to be such a lovely location and gave us some beautiful clean light to see all of Tanners expressions once he saw Kelli.
The next few hours of the day was used to take all your typical wedding photos. We had made sure to pad our timeline (something that is recommended to all you future brides) so that we did not have to rush if things were running late or, if the bride wanted to relax and spend some time with her bridesmaids and future hubby. It will come to no surprise that the bridal portraits is probably my favorite part of the day! I get to take the bride and groom around to different places, they get to have some time together too. Â I absolutely love the portraits we were able to capture of Kelli and Tanner!
Even tho the radar said that it was not supposed to rain at all, Iowa lies. Â Rain clouds started to come around and at one point we had a few rain drops. (This actually felt really nice as it was pretty warm outside at this point.) Â Everyone reassured Kelli that it wasn’t going to rain, and Mel the pastor even showed up and said that she had prayed and talked with God to keep the rain away. It worked, because there was not a drop during the ceremony!
Once everything was official and the couple were married, we headed to the Reception out at the Wayne County fairgrounds.  The food was all home cooked by the bride and grooms parents and it was absolutely delicious! With Scott Valentine as the DJ from Valentine Music Productions, the reception was lively and fun!  The couple had a epic cake smash, and  some awesome first dances. My favorite part had to be when Kelli dragged her mom on the dance floor when Shania Twain’s “Feel Like a Woman” played.
This was such a beautiful wedding, filled with friends and family who all love each other and love having a good time. A special thanks to Kelli and Tanner for trusting me as your wedding photographer. Â <3
