I grew up in a tiny Iowa town that had exactly one photographer. (My dad's argument for why this probably wasn't the smartest career move.) But that didn’t stop me from taking photos of my friends for fun.
I started my first photography business, Capture Life Portraits (s’cute!), as a senior in high school. Ultimately, I decided my dad must be right, and I should pursue something more practical.
Although I graduated with a degree in physical therapy, the medical world never felt like a Cinderella-shoe fit. By my twenties, I'd swapped the small town for the metro and spent six years photographing weddings.
Like most Iowa brand photographers, I’ve always loved taking people’s pictures. But I never thought I could make it a successful career. (Spoiler: I did.)
